CAUTION TAPE
Caution tape (also known as barrier tape, hazard tape, safety tape, or warning tape) is a brightly coloured, non-adhesive or lightly adhesive polyethylene (PE) film tape used to visually communicate danger, restrict access, mark hazardous zones, and warn the public or workers of potential risks in construction, industrial, emergency, law enforcement, and public safety environments. Its high-visibility colours and bold printed warning messages create an immediate and universally understood visual barrier that directs people away from dangerous or restricted areas.
Standard widths : 72 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm (3 inch standard)
Standard roll lengths : 100m, 200m, 250m, 300m, 500m per roll
Standard widths : 72 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm (3 inch standard)
Standard roll lengths : 100m, 200m, 250m, 300m, 500m per roll
Key Characteristics
- Material: Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film — non-adhesive barrier type
- Print method: Flexographic printing — bold repeating warning messages
- Finish: Glossy or semi-gloss film surface
- Colors: Yellow/Black (most common); Red/White, Orange/Black, Red/Black
- Tearability: Hand-tearable — tears cleanly across the width
- Stretch: Slight elongation allows tape to be pulled taut between supports
- Weight: Extremely lightweight — rolls cover large distances economically
- Non-adhesive: Standard barrier tape does not stick to surfaces — tied or stapled to supports
Key Performance Properties
- Extremely high visibility — fluorescent and bold colours attract immediate attention from a distance
- Lightweight and portable — large roll lengths fit in a pocket or tool belt for rapid deployment
- Fast deployment — unrolls and ties off in seconds; no tools or equipment required
- Hand-tearable — cuts to any length quickly without scissors or blades
- Weather resistant — polyethylene film withstands rain, wind, and short-term UV exposure
- Flexible in cold — remains pliable and functional in cold outdoor environments
- Cost-effective — very low cost per metre; economical for large area cordoning
- Non-adhesive — leaves no residue on surfaces or structures
- Highly printable — bold, clear repeating messages visible at distance
- Universally understood — colour and message combinations recognised globally

Reflective Caution Tape — Night Use
For use in low-light conditions and night-time operations:
- Retroreflective surface returns vehicle headlight beams directly to the driver
- Visible from distances of 100 – 300 metres when illuminated
- Used in roadworks, highway maintenance, and emergency response at night
- Often combined with LED wands, flashing lights, and reflective cones for maximum visibility
- Available in standard yellow/black and red/white colour combinations with retroreflective coating
